ABSALUMNI OF THE MONTHOCTOBER’24

Q1: To begin with, tell us how do you feel to reconnect with your college after almost a decade now?

My college days were truly the best and most vibrant times of my life, and I wish I could relive them. Growing up in Bengal and steeped in Bengali culture, moving to Delhi felt like stepping into an ocean of diversity. I met people from all over India pursuing their master’s degrees, along with seniors who guided us. It was a pivotal time in my life, allowing me to develop perspectives that I still carry with me today. This experience was a turning point for me, fostering maturity and helping me develop lasting connections. ABS provided me with a platform to build relationships that would benefit me in the future.

Q2: You are working as a digital marketing manager with ICE, tell us more about your role and KRAs.

I graduated with a degree in Marketing and HR, excelling in exploring marketing and technology. When I entered the market in 2014, opportunities were still emerging, and I began practicing sales while gaining a solid understanding of digital marketing concepts. I was eventually promoted to manager, where I led a team of over 100 people generating a revenue of 5 Cr. As I am currently working with EY, one of the big 4 in the industry, my role involves developing digital marketing strategies to help companies thrive on digital platforms, acting as a consultant to clients on the best approaches for their services. I am also passionate about the intersection of AI and marketing.

Q3: Reflecting in your career, how do you see your learnings at ABS guiding you in your career choices now?

No one can truly predict what you’ll do in life. I was fortunate to have a close-knit group of friends during my college days, and we often playfully disrupted our teachers. Together, we took the initiative to research and compile a list of the top companies in Delhi, undergoing a lot of interviews and analyzing market trends for the next five years. We ended up attending over 100 interviews, ultimately landing offers from Google. We celebrated not just the successes but also the rejections, viewing them as valuable learning experiences that highlighted our areas for improvement. Personally, I’ve appeared in 217 interviews, and each one has presented me with challenging questions that have significantly contributed to my growth over the past ten years. I used to look for questions rather than solutions

I encourage others to actively engage with the market and understand its dynamics. This journey has taught me resilience and provided insights that continue to shape my career.

Q4: Recently, you did a certificate course in performance marketing from Growth School, why did you feel the need for the same and how did it help?

I deeply believe in the learning process and the importance of contribution. For me, education is as essential as breathing. I often study late into the night to complete my courses because I have a strong desire to share knowledge and grow in the field of education for the sake of future generations. My dream isn’t to become a millionaire; rather, I focus on what I will leave behind for the next generation and my juniors. Since 2009, during my graduation, I’ve been inspired by the development I’ve witnessed in logical and psychological perspectives, and I’ve dedicated myself to pursuing this vision.
