SMART Goal Setting

The process of setting goals allows students to choose where they want to go in school and what they want to achieve. By knowing what they want to achieve, they know what they have to concentrate on and improve. Goal setting gives students long-term vision and short-term motivation.

With the PGDM 2014-16 back from internship and gearing up for the new challenges presented by the new academic season, it is imperative to strike a balance so as to ensure a healthy and rejuvenated mind and body. It will be necessary to plan how one needs to tackle studies, exams and placement related activities. Working without a schedule and plan will lead to exhaustion and cause performance to suffer. Planning and proper utilization of resources will lead to achievement of goals and will enable you to practice and study more for the upcoming session.

Having sharp, clearly defined goals, which students can measure, will allow them to take pride in accomplishing those goals. They can see clear forward progress in what might have seemed a long drawn out process.

By setting goals students can:

  1. Improve their academic performance
  2. Increase their motivation to achieve
  3. Increase pride and satisfaction in performance
  4. Improve their self-confidence

All the best for the upcoming academic session.
