The Bulls and Bears, the Finance Club of Asian Business School organized Quiz Quest’24 on September 27th, 2024, in the auditorium. The event aimed to test students’ knowledge of various domains like Logical. Mathematical Reasoning, Financial Concepts in banking, stock markets, and corporate finance, as well as national and international current affairs.
A total of 58 teams, each consisting of three participants registered for the quiz, out of which 52 teams participated. The event was divided into three rounds; Round 1 was General Awareness, five teams advanced to the second round of the competition which was Qualifying Round. The Qualifying round was divided into three parts, Part 1 was “Personality”, Part 2 was “Nation” and Part 3 was “Finance”. There was a tie between two teams in the Qualifying round. So, a tie-breaker round was played get the three teams who would qualify for the finale of Quiz. The final round was divided in two parts: The Buzzer round and the Negative Marking round. After the final round, one team as the winner and one team as the runner up of the quiz competition. All the rounds in the quiz were eliminating rounds.
The marking for the rounds was as follows:
Round 1 – 1 mark for each correct answer and 0 for incorrect answer (20 questions were asked)
Qualifying round- 5 marks for each correct answer and 0 for incorrect answer (6 questions were asked)
Tie-breaker round- 5 marks for each correct answer and 0 for incorrect answer (5 questions were asked)
Final round-
- Buzzer round: 5 marks for each correct answer and 0 for incorrect answer (6 questions were asked)
- Negative marking round: 10 marks for each correct answer and -5 for each incorrect answer (6 questions were asked)
The competition was intense, and full of learning for the students.
