Asian Business School (ABS) organized a unique, virtual ‘TALENT HUNT COMPETITION’ for the new batch of ‘ABS PGDM 2020’ students recently. The objective of the event was to discover the hidden talents in the fresh students and to establish the importance of such important extra-curricular activities along with classroom learning for management students.
The competition this year was slightly unique in the sense that it was organized wholly on a virtual platform wherein students were required to create a 60 seconds video around their display of a particular talent that they were passionate about and send in their participation for evaluation by the judges.
The event entries that were received centered around multifarious talents like Dance, Singing, Drawing, and Poetry.
Out of the several video entries received, 12 were short listed for the final selection of the winner by none other than the well-known South Indian Film Actress & Model and a proud Alumni of Asian Business School – Ms. Eden Kuriakosse – who was the ‘Guest of Honor’ for the award distribution ceremony on 27th August, 2020!
Participating from a virtual platform, Ms. Eden Kuriakosse, at first, warmly greeted the students and wished them health and happiness during these trying times. She then lovingly and nostalgically remembered her own student days at her alma mater, Asian Business School, during the years 2009-2011. She especially talked about how ABS molded her personality and taught her the value of hard work, skill acquisition and time-management and inculcated in her a deep sense of exploration of her innate talents that culminated in her becoming an actress as per her childhood dreams. She said, “I always wanted to become an actress but did not want to compromise on education. Hence, I went in for a PGDM qualification at ABS because I have always believed that education brings quality in life.”
Ms. Eden Kuriakosse then opened the session for questions from the participants. Several questions were put up by the students, most of which were related to her career and the challenges that she had to face in her quest towards stardom. To each of these questions, the charming guest speaker provided the most convincing answers. In particular, she shared some tips with the students on how to become successful that said, “Be yourself; put in your 100% efforts. Start today, be confident and go for it!”
Then, it was time for the selection of the winner of the unique, virtual ‘TALENT HUNT COMPETITION’ for the new batch of ‘ABS PGDM 2020’ students!
Video bites of each of the 12 finalists were played one at a time for all to view and cherish. Each of these entries were truly a treat for the eyes and ears of all those who were a part of this live webinar session. Understandably, it became a tough moment for the ‘Guest of Honor’ for the award distribution ceremony to name the winner. After a lot of deliberations, Ms. Eden Kuriakosse finally named Ms. Akshara M.R., who sang a soulful number, the winner of the ‘ABS TALENT HUNT COMPETITION 2020’!
Once done, Ms. Eden Kuriakosse was presented with a beautiful memento on behalf of the AEG Family. With this, the lively session came to a conclusion.
