Parallel to Academic life at ABS runs the foot stamping rhythm of the student’s social life. Singularly active, students associations and clubs provide a forum for interaction amongst themselves and the world outside. Media Club is an organization for students interested in media and entertainment industry and showcasing the creative talent and artistic diversity within the ABS Community. Students of ABS organized ”MEDIA – THE BUZZ” on Saturday 22.11.12 which was hosted by Mr.Rritwik Shalabh, student, ABS.

Asian Business School as an institute has always realized that “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” and has understood the importance of Sports in the overall development in a student’s life. With an underlying thought that personalities develop not only inside the classrooms but outside as well, ABS celebrated its first Inter-college Sports meet “Athleema2013” on 7th and 8th March2013 at Jasola Sports Complex, New Delhi. The event was inaugurated under the flagship of Prof. Sandeep Marwah, Father of Asian Education Group and Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava – Director, Asian Business School, in the presence of eminent dignitaries -Mr. Rishi Kapoor, Player Indian Football team and Mr. B. K. Bose, Secretary, Indian sports and culture society.

The ground looked colorful with more than 300 participants from more than 19 prestigious colleges holding their flags and banners high in the sky. Participating colleges included – Amity International Business School, Asian Academy of Film and Television, DIM, IILM, Lloyd Business School, Jaypee Institute of Engineering, DAV Institute of Management, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jamia Hamdard, DAV Centenary , IMS, Sunderdeep college.

The meet was given a flying start with the ABS torch bearers who carried Athleema2013 baton to be lit by the guests and carried the flame round the track, followed by a smart March Past by participants in their respective teams. After the march past, the guests gave a short encouraging speech and declared the sports meet open.

For two days, the sports complex had become the battlefield and a sphere of indestructible energy where along with fierce competition, camaraderie and teamwork was also witnessed as the students participated in various sports like Badminton, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, football, Table Tennis and Cricket.

Most of the quarter Finals and semi finals were conducted on day 1 and Day 2 was scheduled for final and semi-finals, along with Friendly matches of Cricket and Volley Ball between the Faculty and Students.

To award the winners and runners up, the closing ceremony of Athleema2013 was held in the premises of Asian Business School on 9th March. The participants were formally invited for the valedictory function and over a worth of one lakh of cash prizes and gift vouchers were distributed along with trophies and medals by Prof. Sandeep Marwah and Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava who congratulated the winners with a promise of renewing the same spiting by hosting “Athleema” on a much larger scale in the next year.
