On August 31, 2024, the Asian Business School proudly hosted its Convocation Ceremony 2024 at the ABS campus, marking a significant milestone in the lives of the graduates. The event commenced with a grand procession of students, followed by an academic procession featuring distinguished guests. The convocation ceremony 2024 was special as it was graced by the distinguished presence of our Chief Guest, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, 14th President of India, along with Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the Asian Education Group, Mr. Akshay Marwah, Chairman of Asian Education Group, and our Director’s Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Dr. Gurdeep Singh Raina, as well as Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members.
The ceremony officially began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. Each dignitary was warmly welcomed with bouquets, followed by introductions to the audience. Mr. Akshay Marwah then officially declared the convocation ceremony open, setting the tone for a day of celebration and reflection.
Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Director, delivered the welcome address, which was followed by Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava’s comprehensive academic report. The highlight of the ceremony was the inspiring address by the chief guest, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, who shared valuable insights from his distinguished career in public service and leadership. In his inspiring address to the graduates, Shri Ram Nath Kovind emphasized the importance of continuous learning, integrity, and service to the nation. He encouraged the graduates to take their education as a foundation for future success, but also to remember their responsibility towards society. He also highlighted the need for inclusivity and ethical values in today’s fast-changing world, urging students to remain humble and grounded as they step into their professional lives.
Shri Kovind congratulated the graduates on their achievements, acknowledging the immense efforts put in by them and their families. He expressed confidence that the knowledge and skills gained at Asian Business School would enable them to excel in their respective fields and contribute meaningfully to the progress of the nation.
Dr. Shweta Batra, Dean Academics & Examinations, led the students in an oath-taking ceremony, instilling a deep sense of duty and pride among the graduates.
Following this, awards, diplomas, and medals were presented to the graduates, celebrating their academic excellence and dedication. Special recognition was given to top achievers, who were awarded medals and certificates for their exceptional performance. Additionally, the Distinguished Faculty Award was announced, honoring faculty members for their significant contributions to the academic community. This year, Mr. Jatin Soni from the PGDM batch 2021-23 was awarded gold medal for his outstanding academic achievement. Dr. Sarmistha Sarma, Professor at ABS, was bestowed with the prestigious “Distinguished Faculty Award 2024” for her remarkable influence on student development and learning.
The event also saw the release of a special book titled Accomplishments, authored by Dr. Sandeep Marwah. The ceremony was further elevated by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including H.E. Jacqueline Mukangira, High Commissioner of Rwanda 🇷🇼; H.E. Capaya Rodriguez Gonzalez, Ambassador of Venezuela 🇻🇪, H.E. Mustapha Jawara, High Commissioner of Gambia 🇬🇲; H.E. Dr. Ali Achoui, Ambassador of Algeria 🇩🇿; Cdr. K. L. Ganju, Honorary Consul General of Comoros 🇰🇲; and Lazar Vukadinovic, Deputy Head of the Mission, Embassy of Serbia 🇷🇸. Their presence added prestige and significance to the occasion, making it a truly memorable and distinguished event.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of AEG, delivered an empowering speech that energized the audience, focusing on the importance of perseverance and having a clear vision to achieve future success. Dr. Marwah emphasized on the importance of becoming Atmanirbhar and making India a proud country.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Gurdeep Singh Raina, Director, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the ceremony and extended appreciation to the honored guests, graduates, and their families.
The day ended on a joyful note as graduates proudly posed for photographs with their diplomas and certificates, their faces glowing with pride and accomplishment. Many were visibly emotional as they reflected on their journey at ABS, leaving the campus with cherished memories, a sense of achievement, and excitement for the future ahead.
