Noida, 14th December 2019: The much sought-after ABS PGDM Global Study Program – viz. The Oxford Trip – organized annually at AICTE-approved management institute, Asian Business School (ABS) – concluded on a high note of achievement for ABS PGDM students. The trip concluded with the conferring of the Executive Diploma in International Business for the students.
ABS is a part of the Asian Education Group and the PGDM program is designed to give students the opportunity to earn an Executive Diploma in International Business while residing in Oxford, UK. Along with classroom study, the Oxford Program includes participation in project work and on-site visits to historical and cultural venues in Oxford and London, U.K.
As an integral part of its core PGDM curriculum, ABS organizes the program for all its students every year. This year the ABS PGDM Oxford Study Trip had been organized from 20th November 2019 to 11th December 2019. In all, 150 ABS PGDM students split into 3 groups, undertook this trip.
In keeping with the ABS PGDM course curriculum mandate, ABS PGDM 2017-19 students earned their Executive Diploma in International Business at the completion of their study trip to Oxford Business College, Oxford, London. This international diploma is offered in conjunction with the other diplomas.
As the diploma prescribes, the three delegations of ABS PGDM students did a comparative analysis, in various business quarters, between India and the UK, for which it was imperative that students travelled to Oxford for empirical study. The fast-paced academic tour for the students served the objective of comprehending a foreign curriculum and pedagogy as it accorded them a rare opportunity to experience business and culture first-hand through cultural excursions and lectures. The study tour ingeniously brought international exposure to the students with an academic feel.
The tour included several days of a survey in Oxford for data collection, a series of lectures at the Oxford Business College, presentations and networking opportunities with faculty and students. During their stay at Oxford, the students explored the historic town, well known worldwide as the home of the University of Oxford, the oldest university in the English-speaking world. Colleges like Baliol, Trinity, Christ Church were also exhaustively explored. The landmark tourist attractions like Westminster Abbey, the Parliament House, Big Ben, the London Eye, Tower of London, Madame Tussauds, the Royal Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, historic Hyde Park, the River Thames were also explored exhaustively.
The prospect of taking up an international role in a foreign country is quite encouraging after the PGDM; global brands are sought after for this very reason. Prior experience in dealing with international diversity makes recruiters more receptive to a profile. And, ABS PGDM program provides the PGDM students with an edge over the others.
International exposure of this kind not only expands the vision but also augments the personality of management students. The discernment is all about a wide variety of people, wonderful places, different mannerisms and opportunities to broaden one’s horizons. And, ABS is favourably disposed to give all its management students this matchless experience to savour for years to come and draw from it, the essential traits for working in a global environment.
