
Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) have become an essential part of academic growth in India, especially with rapid changes in teaching methods, technology, and research expectations. One such flagship initiative by the Government of India is the ATAL FDP (AICTE Training and Learning Faculty Development Program) with the vision to empower faculty to achieve goals of Higher Education such as access, equity and quality.
The FDP is initiative under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) by NITI Aayog, Government of India. The primary goal of ATAL FDP is to upgrade the skills, knowledge, and teaching practices of faculty members in higher education institutions.
ATAL FDPs are usually conducted in online or offline mode and are hosted by institutions such as IITs, NITs, central universities, and premier private institutions affiliated to AICTE. The proposed/approved FDP shall be conducted within financial year from the date of receipt of offer letter. The Duration of the online FDP shall be 06 days.

Step 2: Sign up using Email Id and Phone Number. Click on the verification link received on email or phone number to verify email id/phone number. OR
Step 3: Log in using the credentials created during the sign up.
Step 4: After logging in, click on general details and fill your respective information.
Step 5: After successfully filling general details, please click on "FDPs".
Step 6: Apply Filters- Type>ATAL> Month> Thrust Area> Online

ATAL FDPs are designed mainly for faculty and academic professionals, but eligibility may slightly vary depending on the program.
(i) AICTE Approved institutions
(ii) Centrally Funded Technical Institutions like IITs, IIMs, NITs, IIITs, Central Universities, State Technical Universities, Private and Deemed to be Universities conducting technical programs affiliated by AICTE.
(iii) Reputed pioneer organizations / Industries in the field
* Institutions granted continuously for two Academic years would not be considered for third year and would be considered again only for 4th year
(i) Coordinator must be a full-time regular faculty & having 10 Years of Teaching / Research / Industry experience and knowledge and experience to conduct online FDP through any available software.
(ii) Co-Coordinator should be a full-time regular faculty with at least 5 years of Teaching / Research / Industry experience
* Coordinators if granted FDP in the previous academic year (AY) would not be considered for grant of FDP in the current AY.
(i) The faculty members, Research scholars & PG Scholars of the AICTE approved institutions and Industry Personnel
(ii) Not more than 20% from Host Institution. For North Eastern and Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh Region 30% participation from host institute is allowed.
(iii) Minimum 100 participants should be ensured for conduct of the FDP ATAL FDPs are completely free for participants.
