Steal the Show 2.0

An exciting and dynamic Anchoring Competition, Steal the Show 2.0, was organized by Gnosis: The Literary Club at Asian Business School on November 8, 2024. The event took place with great enthusiasm and energy, showcasing the talent of 27 participating students, each demonstrating immense passion and creativity.

The competition featured two main categories: formal and informal anchoring. Participants were tasked with displaying their skills through various formats, such as live reporting, interview-style anchoring, and spontaneous commentary on current events. The judging criteria focused on several key aspects: articulation, confidence, spontaneity, content knowledge, and the ability to engage the audience effectively.

The event commenced with an introductory round, where participants briefly introduced themselves. This was followed by a series of anchoring challenges designed to test their versatility. Some of the most exhilarating moments of the event came from impromptu segments, where students were asked to anchor live event scenarios or deliver scripted performances with minimal preparation. These rounds were particularly demanding, assessing not only their speaking abilities but also their quick thinking and composure under pressure.

The competition was judged by Assistant Professor Ankita Sharma, Assistant Professor at the Centre for Skill Development, specializing in media and communications. Prof. Sharma provided valuable insights and constructive feedback, helping participants refine their skills. The event fostered a spirit of friendly competition and enabled students to enhance their public speaking capabilities.

After an exhilarating series of performances, the top three participants from both the formal and informal categories were announced and awarded certificates and accolades for their exceptional anchoring skills. The event was a resounding success, offering students a platform to improve their public speaking skills while celebrating their passion for communication and anchoring.

In conclusion, Steal the Show 2.0 provided an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their anchoring talents, leaving both participants and audience members eagerly awaiting the next edition of the competition.
