On February 4th, 2025, the Media Club of Asian Business School organized an exhilarating event titled “BRANDING BRILLIANCE” for our PGDM students. This innovative activity was designed to hone students’ skills in creating and publishing media collaterals for their own brands, offering a unique platform to showcase their talents and creativity. The air crackled with creativity and entrepreneurial spirit as “Branding Brilliance,” ignited the branding prowess of its PGDM students. This innovative activity provided a unique platform for students to delve into the intricacies of brand creation and publication, showcasing their talents and strategic thinking to a captivated audience.
The event, meticulously coordinated by student leaders Mansi Sharma, Nikita Choudhary, Anchana Parmer, Anshu Kanyal, and Chirag Mehta, witnessed an impressive turnout. Eighty-seven eager participants, forming eighteen teams, initially registered for the challenge. After a rigorous selection process, fourteen outstanding teams emerged to showcase their meticulously crafted brand identities on stage.
“Branding Brilliance” wasn’t just about pretty pictures and catchy slogans; it was a deep dive into the strategic core of brand building. Students were tasked with developing comprehensive brand books, utilizing industry-standard tools like Canva and Adobe Photoshop. These digital and printed compendiums served as the blueprints for their brands, encompassing everything from core brand identity and messaging to logo design, taglines, color palettes, and visual styles. Each element was carefully considered and strategically aligned to create a cohesive and compelling brand narrative.
The event format was dynamic and engaging. Each team presented their brand books, offering insights into their creative process and strategic rationale. These presentations were further enhanced by captivating introductory videos, bringing the brands to life and showcasing the students’ multimedia skills. The atmosphere was electric, buzzing with excitement and healthy competition as students showcased their original photography and design skills, demonstrating their ability to translate abstract concepts into tangible visual representations.
The judging panel, comprised of industry experts and faculty members, was visibly impressed by the creativity, depth of understanding, and professionalism displayed by the students. The projects demonstrated not only a mastery of design principles and marketing concepts but also a keen understanding of the target audience and market dynamics. The students had effectively integrated business acumen with media skills, a crucial combination in today’s increasingly digital landscape.
“Branding Brilliance” transcended the boundaries of a typical classroom exercise. It fostered an environment of collaboration and innovation, encouraging students to think outside the box and push the limits of their creativity. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, gaining practical experience in brand building and presentation.
