Mr Debargha Deb, Regional Manager-HR (North), Dabur India Ltd. offered a wonderful live webinar session on the topic “CRAFTING YOUR PROFESSIONAL CAREER” for PGDM students & aspirants of Asian Business School (ABS) on Friday, 16th July 2021 at 3:30 PM under its “Distinguished Lecture Series – An Expert Talk” program.
Mr Debargha Deb is a senior HR professional with 16+ years of Multi-State experience as a Generalist in HR. Partnering Business and managing HR relations with a vast and remote employee base is one of his core competencies. Currently heading HR functions of Dabur India Ltd North Region, Mr Debargha Deb carries with him a rich repertoire of HR functional background of industries like FMCG, Insurance, Data Processing Center/ KPO.
An initiative of Asian Education Group (AEG) that enjoys a legacy of 27 years of Excellence in Education, this webinar was organized by Asian Business School (ABS), which is a constituent group college of Asian Education Group and is ranked as one of the best B-schools in Delhi NCR, for all PGDM/MBA students & aspirants. Since this webinar was a closed session, students were required to register for the same. The webinar was followed by a lively Q&A session with the distinguished guest.
The distinguished guest Mr Debargha Deb began his session by thanking the ABS Management for inviting him for this webinar and promised that it would be a “2-way benefit session” for both the students on the threshold of their career as well as for him as a representative of the HR community who would be hiring them for their respective organizations. Delving on the word “Crafting” in the topic “CRAFTING YOUR PROFESSIONAL CAREER”, he said, “Crafting is an ongoing process; so keep re-inventing yourself.”
Mr Debargha Deb took the session further by introducing a PPT presentation on the great importance of “Personal Branding” in one’s quest to achieve their career ambitions. To quote his words, he said, “Brand is what makes the difference … so Brand Yourself as powerfully as you can!” Some of the key points that he touched upon in his engrossing PPT presentation were:
Ø What is a personal brand?
Ø Why create a personal brand?
Ø How to build one’s personal brand?
Ø The need for constant spicing-up of one’s personal brand.
Ø The need for maintaining one’s personal brand.
The distinguished senior HR professional then opened the session for questions from the participants. Several questions were put up by the students, most of which were related to HR norms and expectations, and careers and challenges in the modern business and corporate world. Needless to say, to each of these questions, the distinguished speaker provided the most convincing answers.
Before he concluded his highly interesting talk, the distinguished guest Mr Debargha Deb did not forget to share some great career advice for the participating students. He said, “As things stand, the question that you will be asked in your job interviews today is ‘What Have You Done or Learned During the Pandemic?’ … and you will have to answer this question convincingly. So, do not feel less confident that you have had blended or online classes and not the usual offline learning practices during the pandemic-induced lockdowns; utilize this time and situation in translating everything into skills.”
Thereafter, as a token of gratitude, the distinguished guest Mr Debargha Deb was presented with a glittering “Memento” on behalf of Asian Education Group, which was greatly appreciated by the distinguished guest. And that brought this wonderful session to a close.
