The National Seminar on the theme “Industry 4.0: A Roadmap for Indian Business Competitiveness” was held on 27th October 2018 at the Asian Business School, Noida Campus. The event was organised under the aegis of Research and Development Cell that works to promote research and allied activities in the organisation. It was an effort to present and facilitate an understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts, its drivers, enablers, goals and limitations. This seminar has served as a forum where research scholars, industry professionals, learned faculty members and functionaries from diverse business backgrounds came together to learn or share their knowledge on this subject.
The day started with the Inaugural ceremony wherein the chairperson of R&D Cell and Associate Dean of Asian Business School, Dr. Anubhuti Dwivedi welcomed all the guests. The Inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Lalitya Vir Srivastava – Director AEG, in which he expressed his pleasure on the relevance of the theme chosen, since our students could learn about the future disruptive technologies from the industry and academic experts present as guest speakers at the seminar. This was followed by the release of the Seminar Souvenir. The keynote address by Mr. Sudhir Mehani, who is a well-known Consultant on Industry 4.0 from Gherzi Consulting Engineers Private Limited, set the ball rolling and made a perfect start on the seminar theme. He talked about computer and automation in an entirely new manner. He discussed about Robotics connected remotely to computer system, equipped with machine learning, algorithms that can learn and control robotics. A new insight given by him was about COBOTS – Robots and humans working together for high efficiency.
Taking the session further, Mr. Nischae Suri, Partner and Head, KPMG Academy, talked about information transparency, technical assistance and decentralised decision making. The vote of thanks for the Inaugural Session was given by Mr. Ravi Sharma, Assistant Dean, Corporate Resource Cell – AEG. He thanked the guests and participants for attending the Inaugural ceremony and being a part of the Seminar.
