DR.KIRAN BEDI GIVES THE OATH TO THE ASIANITES IN THE CONVOCATION

Asian Business School, Noida is proud of hosting “Convocation Ceremony” for our students of the PGDM every year. This time it was held for our PGDM (13-15) Batch. Keeping up with our tradition and glory, every year a highly acclaimed personality from the public life is made the Guest of Honor and a renowned corporate personality becomes our Chief Guest.

This year, the convocation was unique as our Guest of Honor was Dr.Kiran Bedi, she is ex-IPS officer and founder of NGOs Navjyoti and India Vision Foundation. Dr. Kiran Bedi, an internationally acclaimed personality, with untainted reputation of being the first woman IPS officer, a Ramon Magsaysay Award winner and founder of two NGOs Navjyoti as well as India Vision Foundation; they work for underserved children, women and men. She has worked with United Nations in New York as the Police Advisor to the Secretary General, in the Department of Peace Keeping Operations. She led Peacekeeping Operations in 16 Peacekeeping Missions war torn countries of Africa, Asia and Europe.

Dr.Kiran Bedi holds a Law Master’s and Doctorate degree. She is recipient of Nehru Fellowship as well for her post doctoral degree. She is a sportsperson of high repute as well; she been National and an Asian Tennis Champion. Her NGOs are actively working in the field of management education as she is running B schools in partnership with Universities and Vocational Institutes for Indian youth.

Dr. Kiran Bedi is a source of inspiration for Indian society as she is loved and respected by one and all. This is reflected in the awards she has been bestowed by the national and international magazines; she has been voted as India’s most admired (THE WEEK 2002), most trusted woman in India (Readers Digest 2010, Navbharat Times 2012), MSN Most Admired Indian Female Icon 2011 and amongst top 10 women Icons of 2013 by The Economic Times.

Dr. Kiran Bedi‘s life has inspired the Australian Film maker, Megan Doneman to produce a nonfictional feature film entitled “Yes, Madam Sir.” This film was adjourned the “Best Documentary” at Santa Barbara International Film Festival. She has a biography,” I Dare” and is an author of several books, namely “It’s Always Possible”, “What Went Wrong”, “As I See”, “Broom and Groom”, “India Protests”. She anchors radio and Television shows and is a columnist. She has been in the vanguard of a nationwide movement of “India against Corruption.”

Dr. Kiran Bedi solemnized the oath to our students which was phenomenal and she made them understand the true meaning of the oath- which was service to the society and nation. She shared some tips with our students about mental and physical fitness that will help them to face their corporate challenges in a very meaningful way. Her words of wisdom added substance to an august, solemn and memorable event. We thank her for her gracious presence which will be remembered for the times to come.
