Asian Business School is organizing an International Conference on "Viksit Bharat: Harnessing Indian Knowledge Systems for Innovation and Entrepreneurship" on the 11th and 12th of September, 2025. Anchored in the spirit of the Rig Vedic verse advocating unity of thought and action, this conference aims to explore how India's rich intellectual heritage can contribute to the nation’s progress as a developed economy.
The conference seeks to provide an interdisciplinary platform for academicians, researchers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals to deliberate on integrating Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) with contemporary models of innovation and entrepreneurship. It emphasizes the relevance of traditional wisdom in fields such as Ayurveda, Vedic mathematics, trade practices, and sustainable business models, fostering inclusive growth and self-reliance.
The conference objectives include promoting dialogue on blending traditional knowledge with modern entrepreneurship, showcasing indigenous technologies, and encouraging start-ups based on IKS. It will also address policy frameworks and institutional support required to scale indigenous innovations globally.
The event features a range of sub-themes including frugal innovation (Jugaad), ethical leadership rooted in Indian philosophy, ancient trade practices, financial inclusion through indigenous banking, and the role of traditional knowledge in sustainable businesses. Special emphasis is placed on sectors like agri-tech, cultural industries, women entrepreneurship, and the Gandhian model of self-reliant enterprise.
The conference will provide publication opportunities in reputed journals like Empirical Economics Letters (ABDC-indexed) and the ABS International Journal of Management. It invites original research papers aligned with the central theme.
