Asian Business School conducted an event on “World Environment Day”, one of the biggest International Day for the environment. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme, and held annually since 1973, this day has significantly become the leading global platform for environmental outreach. The Day being celebrated every year on the 5th June intents to hoist universal awareness to take constructive environmental measures in order to protect Nature and the Planet Earth. It is representative of a pledge to get involved in environment-friendly activities and to build a greener planet. Keeping this purpose in view, Asian Business School celebrated World Environment Day on the 6th of June 2022. The guest of honor was Mr. Anand Mohan Singh, Dy. Director (Horticulture), NOIDA Authority, who glorified the event with his gracious presence. The event started off with an enthralling Nukkad Natak performance on the environment to generate consciousness for the conservation of the Environment amongst the students. Also, there was an oath-taking ceremony, wherein all the students and Faculty members took oaths to protect Mother Earth and take necessary steps to curtail pollution. This was followed by a plantation drive in the college premises, wherein the students, and faculty members planted over 20 plants with the Guest of Honor to initiate the conservation of nature and promote afforestation to the maximum extent possible.
It is quite imperative to make the students aware of the Environmental Crisis the world is going through, and the steps that can be taken to lesson pollution to make it more sustainable. Mr. Anand Mohan Singh highlighted the importance of planting trees and evoked in the students the need to save the planet. Students were asked to plant a sapling to create a green corner. It was really an impactful event, where the students learnt much about the environment and started to implement the same by seeding and nurturing the plants. The event was thus concluded successfully with whole hearted participation and awareness about plants.
