AEG organizes JOSHTALKS in association with ITC VIVEL on the theme “Ab Samjhauta Nahin” on Friday, 27th September 2019

Asian Education Group (AEG) organized a workshop on “KNOW YOUR RIGHTS – AB SAMJHAUTA NAHI” conducted by Josh Talks in association with ITC Vivel on Friday, 27th September 2019 for the students of three of its constituent group colleges – namely, Asian Business School (ABS), Asian School of Business (ASB), and Asian Law College (ALC). The talk was held at the Noida campus of AEG The trainer of the event was Ms. Richa Chadha, Trainer-Josh Talks.

The objective of the workshop was to create awareness amongst the AEG students about their rights, and also make them appreciate that gender and identity are two different things. More than 200 students attended the workshop.

Ms Richa Chadha, a member of the Josh Talks, guided the students on how understandings of gender have continuously evolved and that gender-fluidity is chiefly a question of internal personal identity and is, therefore, a psychological phenomenon. The data that was shared showed that today’s young people have significantly different understandings of gender than previous generations, with consequences for all children, families, organizations, and institutions.

The session was quite informative and productive as several case laws were discussed with the students and they were also made aware of how new laws are coming up and amendments are being made in the Indian Penal Code, 1872 and Information Technology Act, 2000 to address these issues. The videos and clips were played which highlighted how, from earlier times, laws have changed and that they are working for the betterment for the society.

The session apprised the students with the current legal and social issues prevailing in the society and helped them understand their fundamental rights, its scope, its diversity, and its development. It also helped the students to develop an understanding of the issues like individuals’ fundamental rights, Gender Equality, Domestic Violence, Divorce, Alimony, and Inheritance.

Overall, the session increased the self-awareness among the AEG students that would help them develop into strong and focused individuals contributing meaningfully to society.
