Hence, targeting fresh job aspirants of management institutes, ABS made an endeavor to organize a one day conclave, where HR professionals carried out candid and constructive deliberations and transform student’s orientation from myth to reality in job placements. The event started at 11:00 am with Mr. Sandeep Marwah, Director, ABS, formally inaugurated the conclave by expressing, “I’m glad to see a blend of varied experts on one platform”. He ended his speech by stating, “There is no shortage of work but right kind people to work”. Extending her views on the topic Dr. Ranjana Mittal stated, “There is a gap between knowledge and implementation”. Expressing views on right kind of resume, Ms. Kaveri Mishra said, “resume is not the only reflection of you but your ethics as well” .To this Mr. Navneet Chandra gave an insight, “In India companies dislike spending on training, they need readymade skills, so institutes need to give the skills…” Ms. Chaudhary suggested that one’s resume should be based on the SWOT analysis. Discussing on Salary and Negotiation, Dr. Sri Prakash said that good job is all about salary, profile and company. Mr.Chandra advised the students, “First two years are the crucial years with the company hence one should focus more on learning than on salary.” The panelists emphasized that appearance is important but positive and open to learning attitude is more important, and students should be their natural self as overdo might leave a negative impression on the recruiters. This was followed by the farewell party by the juniors. |  | | Noida gets its first community radio station | The Asian School of Media Studies owned by Marwah Studios head Sandeep Marwah, based in the film city Noida has been given permission to establish, maintain and operate a Community Radio Station. With this, the number of CRs will increase to 59 in the country. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has signed a Grant of Permission Agreement with the School and the Letter of Intent had been issued to the organization after recommendations of the Inter Ministerial Committee and seeking requisite clearances from various Ministries. The Community Radio Station is expected to be operational within three months as per the agreement. The School has been interacting with not-for-profit organizations in Noida devoted to the welfare of underprivileged section of the local community. The underprivileged section of the society comprises of migrant labour working in the factories, business houses and petty shops as well as domestic help and rickshaw pullers etc. The School intends to lend valuable support to such organizations in their effort to help the deprived section of the society through radio broadcasts.
