ABS PGDM 1st Semester Industrial Visit to Yakult & Danone Pvt Ltd.

An industrial tour was organized for PGDM 1st Semester students to “Yakult & Danone Pvt Ltd” at Sonepat Plant, Haryana on 2nd August, 2018. Yakult is a Probiotic Fermented Milk Drink which contains 6.5 billion beneficial bacteria Lactobacillusv casei strain (LcS). The bacteria reach the intestine alive to help improve digestion and help build immunity. Dr. Minrou Shirota, a Japanese scientist took the initiative to work on preventive measures to improve the health of the people of Japan. He discovered Lactobacillus casei strain shirota (LcS) in 1930 and introduced it in a fermented milk drink called “YAKULT” which was launched in Japan in 1935.

The students visited Yakult Manufacturing Plant & witnessed the manufacturing of Yakult products and enhanced their knowledge as HR Heads Mr. Aadish & Ms. Yamini beautifully described about the products, their processing and the functioning of the organization.  They gave them insights about the working of machines and elucidated the students about the manufacturing, packaging and marketing of Yakult products.

During this session, ABS PGDM students interacted with the Managers very effectively, particularly about the bacteria behind the probiotic fermented milk and their identification, isolation and storage.

After this session students were taken to industrial trip in two batches. Both the batches were taken to Quality control unit and production unit. During the trip students gained practical knowledge about the handling of the raw materials having different characteristics and properties.

This trip enhanced the knowledge of the students and gave them practical exposure of the working of these industries and manufacturing plants.
